- Hepatitis A & B
- Typhoid
- Tetanus/Diphtheria (up to date)
- Malaria prevention pills (start before your trip)
Packing Tips
Pack Light. Pack Smart. Feel Good.
Safari travel is about comfort, not fashion — and your lodge will do your laundry! Here’s what we recommend:
Must-Haves:
- Soft, neutral-colored clothes (avoid black, white, bright blue)
- A lightweight jacket or fleece for cool mornings
- Long pants and sleeves for evening mosquito protection
- A wide-brim hat and sunglasses
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Swimsuit (many lodges have pools!)
- Sunscreen, insect repellent, lip balm
What NOT to Pack:
- Hard suitcases (use soft duffel bags easier for jeeps)
- Camouflage clothing (only for military in Tanzania)
- Hair dryers (most camps are solar-powered)
- Too much white or black (dust + heat = discomfort)
- Jewelry and expensive electronics (better safe than sorry)
