It's an ancient town, believed to have been established before the 6th Century BC, and played a pivotal role during the era of the slave trade. As a trading port, Pangani was predominantly involved in the trade of slaves and ivory. A walking tour through the town unveils its historical treasures, including buildings dating back over 200 years, former slave labor camps, and the site of the slave market.
