Passport Rules (U.S. Travelers)
- Passport valid 6+ months beyond travel
- At least 1 blank page
- Bring a printed copy + a photo on your phone (backup)
- Immigration checks passport validity carefully.
Tanzania Tourist Visa (U.S. Citizens)
- Tourist visa required
- Apply online (eVisa) or get visa on arrival at the airport
- Many U.S. travelers pay $100 for a 12-month multiple-entry tourist visa
- Be ready to show a round-trip/return ticket and proof of funds if asked

Health Rules (Yellow Fever + Malaria)
- Yellow Fever certificate is required only if you arrive from a yellow-fever-risk country or you have a 12+ hour airport transit/layover in a risk country
- Direct travel from the U.S.: Yellow Fever not required
- Malaria prevention medication is commonly recommended for many safari areas (ask your doctor)
- Your flight connection can change what is required. EXG Safaris double-checks your routing.
Going to Zanzibar? One Extra Requirement
- Zanzibar requires mandatory inbound travel insurance purchased through the official Zanzibar portal
- You will receive a QR code/confirmation to show at arrival
- This is separate from your personal travel insurance
- If your trip includes Zanzibar, EXG Safaris will remind you exactly when to buy it.
